Nature surrounds beautiful Vancouver

Vancouver — a diverse cosmopolitan city on the west coast of Canada — is never far from nature, with water and mountains dominating the local landscape.


The bustling metropolis is surrounded by the Strait of Georgia, Burrard Inlet and the Fraser River and overlooked by the spectacular Coast Mountain Range — not, as some believe, the Rocky Mountains, located about 800 km to the east.

The city is named after British explorer George Vancouver, who arrived in 1792 only to discover that Spanish sailors had already claimed the area.
